This two day, overnight course is aimed at people over the age of 8. The great outdoors can be a great way to engage the entire family and how better than to the team for Fathers Day weekend at Almost Wild and learn some basic but highly useful bushcraft and survival skills before taking on a few fun challenges as a family unit. You will need to provide all of your own food for the two days. We will provide tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Please bring your own camping equipment, including a tent and wear suitable outdoor clothing and foot wear.

Father’s Day at Knebworth House Gardens and Park

On 18th of June we will be hosting our annual jousting event. The turrets and towers of Knebworth House provide a spectacular backdrop to the costumed knights on majestic warhorses galloping at full tilt across the arena in a fantastic display of horsemanship. Knights demonstrate their skills in hand to hand combat to the delight of the crowds who are encouraged to cheer, and jeer, their favourite knights. There are two scheduled jousting displays on both days at about 12.30 and 2.30 pm (dependent on the weather).

Bayford Musical Gardens Day

This year Bayford celebrates the 30th anniversary of its’ biennial Musical Gardens Day which raises money for local community charities, The National Gardens Scheme, the NSPCC and the Red Cross.  Visitors are invited to enjoy more than a dozen gardens of variour sizes and styles in the village. Live bands, including Jazz, Brass, Steel and Acoustic, will be playing in the village & gardens and visitors can enjoy a variety of ploughman’s lunches, BBQs, teas and licenced bars. There will be stalls selling local produce, plants, cakes and ice cream, as well as a number of signed walks surround the village. Kids can search for knitted animals on the children’s’ trail.
