An afternoon of activities in Hatfield Town Centre, spread across White Lion Square, The Arcade and Market Place. Santa, reindeer, stall, entertainment, arts & crafts, face painting, stage performances and a fun fair.
Hertford Christmas Gala and Light Switch On

The annual Christmas Gala event will take place on Friday with Christmas markets, street entertainment, performance stage, petting reindeer and stalls, Christmas grotto and Christmas tree light switch on.
Buntingford Late Night Xmas Shopping and Light Switch On

The 2017 event will be held on Friday 24th November and combines the annual Lights of Love ceremony and Late Night Shopping evening. This year they will also have the official switching on of the Christmas lights in Buntingford – said by many to be the best around.
Hitchin Christmas Tree Lights Switch On

Tring Christmas Festival and Lights Switch On

Plenty of shops will be open late to offer a Christmas shopping experience. The High St will be transformed into a Christmas Market. Father & Mrs Christmas will be resident in the Victoria Hall along with festive themed stalls. A fun fair for all ages will be in the Upper High St. Entertainment will be provided on the Main Stage in Church Sq where you can watch the Christmas lights switch on and the Design a Light winner announced. More entertainment can be found in Dolphin Square.
Hoddesdon Love Christmas and Light Switch On

Local choirs and musical groups will keep shoppers entertained with the majestic sound of Enfield Brass Band bringing in the Christmas cheer. A Father Christmas parade will take place later in the afternoon before the switch on of the Christmas tree lights by the Mayor of Broxbourne followed by a short fireworks display.

The season will be kicked-off with the Light Switch-On. On the day, we plan to showcase the finest local talent and acts on stage and around town. Furthermore, we plan to bring in local stallholders offering Artisan and high-quality produce, including food, drinks and gifts. Of course, you can also expect the traditional firework display and appearance of Father Christmas. Each weekend after the Switch-On Event, there will be further fun and games in the town centre to fill you with cheer.

Your favourite festive fixture is back! This Christmas lights switch-on event is bringing you a sackful of free, fun activities for all the family. Attractions open at midday, including the return of the popular Phasels Wood climbing wall, spider mountain and other outdoor adventure activities. There’ll be live performances on the Rainbow Stage in New Town Square. This year’s line-up includes a Baby Rave, children’s favourite Magic Dave and the winners of our Hemel Hears You! music competition. Father Christmas will be live on stage from 4.45pm to check you off his naughty and nice list. Local resident Emma Young will be switching on the Christmas lights at 5.30pm as she ticks another thing off of her ’40 things before 40′ bucket list. And don’t forget to stay for the fireworks finale straight after the big countdown.

Knebworth Christmas Lights Switch On

Switch on is at 6pm. Hosted by Mather Marshall Estate Agents Knebworth, there will be inside and outside stalls, along with a carousel, bouncy castle, roasted chestnuts and candy floss. Paul at Trussells is going to be cooking up some hot food and a hot drink stall of teas/coffees, mince pies and mulled wine will be available. Plus, a grotto will be nicely lit up for the kids to see Santa. The local choir will be on hand to get everyone in the festive mood and potentially a brass band. The local press and local MP, Stephen McPartland, will be attending.
Southdown Christmas Lights Switch On

As ever it promises to be a brilliant family event with many great attractions including carol singing and folk dancing from the English miscellany, children’s fairground rides, shops opening late and a range of Christmas stalls. The Christmas lights will be switched on by the Town Mayor at 6.00pm. Like last year, we will be lighting up various trees, lamp columns and of course the Christmas tree.

The main man himself will be at the event in his sleigh along with a full afternoon’s entertainment that has been scheduled. The switching on of the lights, is still at the forefront of the event and following the closing of the Christmas Wonderland 2017 Santa’s Chief Elf will lead families on a walk through ‘Elf Woods’ which will lead us all back to Batford Corner ready for the 5pm switch on by the Mayor.
