With the sun shining (sort of) this month, it’s the perfect time to enjoy one of Hertfordshire’s fabulous parks. Not sure where to go? A new website launched in July is now available for those who want to find the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors.

Park search website

The ParkHerts website, which is a collaboration between Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and Hertfordshire’s district councils, allows users to search for parks according to what activities they want to do and who they want to do them with.

The website can help you find local information about walking, cycling and running routes, historical and wildlife guides, activity trails, local events and maps, amongst other things.

You can then filter the most suitable Hertfordshire parks by how far away they are from your home.

Executive Member for Public Health, Richard Roberts, said: “We are lucky to have so many beautiful open spaces in Hertfordshire and there are lots of opportunities to enjoy them for free whenever you want to.

“The ParksHerts website is one more way we are trying to make it as easy as possible for people to enjoy the great outdoors.

“Getting out and having a walk is one of the best things we can do for our health, regardless of age or ability so I’d encourage everyone to find a new park, field or nature reserve to explore this summer.”

Whether you want to take on more outdoor activities, find somewhere new to explore with the kids, or just sit back and appreciate the wildlife, there are plenty of green space in Hertfordshire to visit this summer.
